Enjoy! We try to provide some useful and interesting links
and materials to enhance your experience.
Calvary Chapel of Lake Houston is a young fellowship. Young,
meaning the fellowship has not been existance for a long time.
We are not a social club. We are a fellowship of imperfect
beings striving to follow He who is perfect (Jesus Christ). Our purpose is to grow stronger in the knowledge of His Person, His will and His plan for us, individually and as a body of believers.
For this reason we place a heavy emphasis on the teaching of God's word. It is hard to become a 'doer of the word' (James 1:22) unless you know it first.
We teach the Bible--book by book, chapter by chapter, verse by verse--in an effort to declare to you the whole counsel of God. Each lesson will vary in flavor and theme as determined by God, in accordance with each passage we study. In doing so, the Bible will come alive. It will speak. It will declare to you what God expects of you and what He does not. He will tell you Who He is and what He has done and will do in the future. Growing in His word will energize and revolutionize your entire life. God has a plan and purpose for your life and we simply want to help. Everything flows out of your relationship with Christ and He has revealed everything you need to know in His word.
We also emphasize praise and prayer. God's word tells us that it is more blessed to give than to receive (Acts 20:35), therefore we seek to give our praise to Him before we receive the blessing of His word. Our worship is contemporary, but we also value the traditional hymn.
Jesus told the Samaritan woman in John 4:2324--
"23 But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. 24 "God [is] Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth."
We want to be true worshipers and everything we do at Calvary Chapel of Lake Houston is focused on helping us worship Him in spirit and truth.
Thanks for coming to visit us; if we can be of any service to you please do not hesitate to send us an email, give us a call. We also have an online prayer request form. Rest assured--all your requests are kept in confidence.
God bless you and keep you!
